Campaign Guide

Map Nodes

The campaign map branches like Slay the Spire. Choose your path through battles, rest stops, shops, and events.

Battle

Standard combat encounter. Win for gold, recruitment, and gear drops.

Elite Battle

Harder fight with better rewards. Risk vs reward decision.

Shop

Buy unit card packs, potions, and gear. Prices scale with act.

Event

D20 skill-check narrative choice. Success/failure outcomes shown.

Rest

Heal damaged units or upgrade a unit tier.

Siege

Attack fortified position. Artillery and morale critical.

Boss

Act boss battle. Must win to progress to next act.

Events

D20 skill-check events present risk/reward choices. Success and failure outcomes are shown before you commit.

Events are narrative encounters with 2-3 choices. Each choice shows a difficulty rating (based on your army composition) and both success and failure outcomes. A D20 roll determines the result. Reroll tokens from shops let you retry unfavorable outcomes.

Shops

Shops offer Balatro-style card packs with random unit selections, rank-up potions, and reroll tokens.

  • Unit Card Packs — Random units at a shown tier. Higher tiers cost more gold.
  • Rank-Up Potions — Promote an existing unit to the next tier.
  • Reroll Tokens — Retry D20 event rolls.
  • Gear — Occasional gear items with faction synergy bonuses.

Sieges

Siege battles test your army composition against fortified positions. Artillery and morale management are critical.

Bring artillery if available and maintain high leadership to prevent routs during prolonged assaults. Siege defenders have fortified positions — use ranged units to soften before committing infantry.

Economy

Gold from battles and events fuels recruitment, shop purchases, and event rerolls. Budget carefully between fights.

  • Battle victories: 100-500 gold depending on difficulty
  • Event rewards: 50-300 gold on success
  • Ransoming captives: Variable, usually 100-200 gold
  • Shop unit packs: 150-600 gold by tier
  • Recommended reserve before act boss: 300+ gold for emergency shop visit
